Introduction | The RAC serine/threonine-protein kinases (AKT1, 2, and 3 in humans, also known as Protein Kinase B, PKB) are a group of enzymes that catalyse the phosphorylation of serine and/or threonine residues on proteins, using ATP as a phosphate donor. This allows them to regulate the activity of other proteins, which are chiefly involved in glucose metabolism, cell survival and proliferation, and migration. Overexpression of AKT proteins occurs in various tumours. |

Note | THIS PRODUCT IS FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY. NOT FOR USE IN DIAGNOSTIC OR THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURES. Please note that our kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
