Basal Medium Eagle (BME) is used to support the growth of many different mammalian cell lines in monolayer culture, including HeLa and primary fibroblasts. It contains various amino acids and vitamins essential for cell growth, though does not contain proteins, lipids or growth factors. The formulation of this product does not contain L-glutamine.
