Ku protein is involved in DNA repair, and its ablation causes faster aging in knockout mice. Antibodies to Ku can arise in various autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), systemic sclerosis, and scleroderma-polymyositis overlap syndrome. |
