Silibinin is a small molecule. It is the major active constituent of silymarin, a standardized extract of the milk thistle seeds, containing a mixture of flavonolignans consisting of silibinin, isosilibinin, silicristin, silidianin, and others. This product is soluble in ethyl acetate, acetone, methanol and ethanol; and slightly soluble in chloroform. This product exhibits poor solubility in water.
