Introduction | Peripherin (PRPH, also known as Neurofilament 4, NEF4) is a type III intermediate filament protein found in most peripheral neurons, and in some central neurons that connect to peripheral neurons. It is thought to form a structural network with or without other neurofilament proteins, and may be involved in the development of unmyelinated sensory neurons. Mutations in peripherin are associated with a susceptibility to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). |

Note | THIS PRODUCT IS FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY. NOT FOR USE IN DIAGNOSTIC OR THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURES. Please note that our kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
